On April 5th, The Photography community travelled to Vizhinjam to capture the beauty of Vizhinjam. Starting off from St. Josephs Shrine at 7 in the morning, they captured the morning light and the beauty of the area together through a community photowalk.

Punchakkari is known for its calm backwaters and lush surroundings, which makes it a great place for a photowalk and so we went on the 11th of April - on a chilly morning at 6 am to capture photographs in the golden hour light.

Known for its calm backwaters and lush surroundings, which makes Punchakkari a great place for photography. A couple of our members brought along zoom lenses to capture the variety of birds usually found there.
On the 18th of April, Shutter Bloc went to Santhosha Theruvu, hosted at Manaveeyam Veedhi - a vibrant street carnival with stalls, performances, art, and plenty of candid moments to capture. A wonderful opportunity for street photography. Capturing the colors, expressions and creative energy around the space. Meeting near the Tea Shop at Manaveeyam, we began our adventure into the world of street photography.

On the 25th of April, we went back to Chalai — one of the oldest and busiest market streets in the city, known for its rows of small shops, old-school signboards, and tightly packed storefronts. It’s a place full of character, especially in the early hours when shops begin to open and the streets slowly come to life.
From old signboards to repeating patterns and textures, Chalai has plenty of visual details if you slow down and look closely. For this walk, we’ll be focusing on either shape hunting or typography hunting, so keep an eye out for interesting forms, letters, and compositions.
